PvE unlocking
It is far too laborious to unlock skills in PvE for a new secondary (or a 4th etc...). The option to change secondaries is nice, but with the rate of skill point gain and price of unlocks it is difficult to flesh out alternate builds. I understand (for whatever rason) that ANet wants grind involved in unlocking skills for PvP, and that they don't want it to be too easy, after all, it gives folks something to do. Here's my suggestion though for making it possible to actually pick up additional classes on PvE tooons to have fun playing with builds.
Make 2 kinds of unlocks:
The usual kind, as it is now, in which you unlock a skill for PvP for a platinum and a skill point. Characters starting the game and classes you haven't played work this way.
A second kind of unlock would be a PvE unlock, onlly available if the skill is already unlocked for PvP, and for non-elites only. A character taking a new secondary gets the option to buy skills that have been unlocked through PvP or other characters more cheaply (not sure of costs, but the idea is simply to make it more feasible to change professions).
Since ANet seems to want to keep a link between PvE and PvP this strengthens the link, allowing acquisition of skills for new secondary profesions at a better rate, and a way to port PvP unlocks back to PvE without being unbalanced. By restricting it to non-elites it doesn't hurt the elite skill-capping paradigm, and it reserves skill points for acquiring the elites for your secondary, rathe than having to use them for all sorts of normal but essential skills whose quests have already been completed by the character.
